Here's a cool project for kids:
Garden Gift Wrap (newsletter@iGrandparents.com)
Submitted by: Lori Walker of Thayer, IL, grandparent to 3 grandchildren, ages 2, 6, and 9

'My kids and grandchildren and I love handmade gift wrap, and we have many times tied seed packs to gifts to be used as tags. Now we've done one better! The tissue paper is quickly biodegradable. This works much the same as the expensive mulched bedding rolls, but is very inexpensive to do. We buy seeds on sale for about 10 cents a pack.'

* unbleached tissue paper (this is a tan color)
* white glue
* assorted flower seeds

Spread a thin layer of glue on the paper very carefully and spread the flower seeds on the gift wrap. Include a tag telling the recipient to tear pieces off the wrap and plant 1/4-inch deep in garden bedding soil or pots. Be careful not to put too many seeds, as this will cause crowding of plants in the garden.
