Raising Eric

we were just saying last night, that we needed to write down all of his little sayings. here are some:
"I don't need that"
"I don't need you." he likes to point when he says this.
"I can't reach it"
"mine" everything seems to be his
he also likes to answer any question with no, even if the answer is actually yes.
he is getting pretty good at remembering his little songs, ie twinkle twinkle little star, barney songs, Jesus loves me, Sesame Street song.

On Tuesday (10/23), we went over to Uncle Dan's house and brought him dinner, Pizza from Fillippi's, Dan broke his ankle and will be laid up for quite awhile.

Saturday was a nice day, we all went to Del Mar beach, they have a great big lawn area, and eric likes to run around on it, he also played on the playground equipment, swings and slides and such, then we had a picnic lunch then took a long walk around the area.

he had his second traumatic experience with a dog yesterday. we went over to Nana's house Sunday evening for dinner, after dinner he was playing with the dog by giving the bone to Dudley (Nana's schnauzer), Dudley must have felt threatened and bit eric on the hand. it did not puncture the skin but got everyone in a panic, especially Maryanne and her mom. Eric seems to be OK, we called the doctor just in case and he confirmed that if the skin was not broken and it was not bleeding, then there was no cause to worry. we just needed to clean it and watch it. in the morning it looked fine, and he didn't even react to touching it. we need to be better about watching him around animals I guess. - oh, the first time was also with Dudley, he barked at eric when eric went to hug Nana. I think Dudley is a bit skittish especially around children.

last night I was spending time with him, while Maryanne was out and he came into the office room and asked for kbs (meaning pbskids.org). we played on the site for a while with Clifford and the Teletubbies.
It is interesting that he remembers that we played on it before, which was quite a while ago, probably a couple of weeks.

Uncle Daryll came by to watch eric, while Mommy and Daddy attended a church meeting, Daryll had dinner with us, then gave him a bottle and put him to bed, they danced, hopped and played together.

Uncle Gary came by the other day, Sunday to give him a pop-up tent. It looks like a giant Ladybug. Gary stuggled to get the tent up , but after it was up, Eric was running and playing in it, he liked it very much.

he has been really talkitive lately. he says four or five words together pretty consistently.
after he wakes in the morning and after he has had enough time by himself, he starts talking very loudly saying, "Mommy, where are you?" over and over, if that doesn't work he says, "Daddy, where are you?". as soon as one of us goes in to get him he says "Daddy, sleeping" or "Mommy, sleeping" whichever one of us does not go in to get him up, because I used to tell him to talk softly because Mommy is sleeping.
